A bright idea

14 December 2012

Youngsters attending holiday club activities will be kept safe when out and about this winter, thanks to an Integrated Services donation of new hi-vis vests for all the children to wear.

Community project Getting Eastmoor Moving (GEM) helps keep children on the estate entertained during the holidays. The scheme is part of the Eastmoor Community Project, based at St Swithun's Community Centre on Arncliffe Road.

Working with the project, Integrated Services arranged the delivery of 50 free of charge pink and yellow hi-vis jackets, with the GEM logo on.

Development worker Dom Charkin said “the children will wear them when out and about on the estate. It will make sure they can be seen by us and also to keep them safe as we are often doing projects outside”. Charkin continues “we are really grateful for the donation as we rely on people's generosity to keep the project going”.
